On June 23 2011, WMEN and West Midlands Councils jointly held an event to provide local authorities and third sector organisations with the latest information about ESF funding.

The aims of the day were to:

• Provide the most up-to-date information regarding ESF provision
• Help organisations understand this new delivery environment
• Facilitate an informed discussion about working together in local areas to get the best service to our client group.

The agencies that distribute ESF money in the West Midlands – the Skills Funding Agency, Jobcentre Plus and the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) – presented arrangements for the delivery of ESF funded contracts across the region. The day also included workshops with organisations who have been selected to deliver ESF contracts, an opportunity for delegates and contracted providers to discuss provision at a local level, and a presentation about the Community Grants Programme.
